may nonetheless invite participants using automatically generated
emails. All you need is a list of email addresses and optionally the
first and last name of the participants. This information will be used

Intercepts
Our Intercept framework is easy to integrate in your web site.
By using intercepts you can control how your web site visitors are invited to participate in online surveys or to participate in other activities. Web site visitors intercepted on your web site can be redirected to a specific URL (web page) or a survey can be displayed directly from your web site.
When a visitor is intercepted to be invited, a window with your invitation message will be displayed to the visitor in your own website. The invitation message will appear over the content of your
web site. Our framework does not use popups, which would potentially be blocked by popup blockers built into most browsers.
Our intercept framework to invite survey participants offers the following features, click to learn more:
You may specify the invitation message displayed to the web site visitors who are intercepted.
You only need to add a single <script> element to any web page of
your site from which you want to invite visitors. The code for the
<script> element is provided when you create your intercept.
You may specify any URL to which the web site visitors that have been intercepted will be redirected.
You may specify a survey that the intercepted web site visitor will be
asked to complete. Specifying a survey will not redirect the web site
visitor to any other web site. The web site visitor will complete the
survey directly from your web site.
If your web site is accessible from different domains or you want to
invite web site visitors from different domains or web sites, you may
track interceptions and specify interception parameters separately for
each domain or web site.
You may specify the parameters below to control which web site visitors are intercepted and invited to participate. These parameters are intended to ensure that intercepted web site visitors have spent sufficient time
on your web site to make them viable candidates for your online surveys.
- Frequency: a probability between 0 and 1 that a web site visitor will be invited;
- Minimum Page Views: the number of pages a web site visitor must view on your web site before he or she can be invited to participate;
- Minimum Minutes on Site: the number of minutes a web site visitor must have spent on your web site before he or she can be invited to participate;
Once a web site visitor has declined or accepted the invitation, the
web site visitor will not be invited a second time (unless he or she
clears his or her browser cookies).
By default the visitor will not be reinvited for a period of 30 days. You can change the number of days before a web site visitor can be re-invited by the same intercept.
You may specify the captions of the "Yes" or "Accept" button and the
"No" button that appear below the invitation message show to
intercepted web site visitors.
You can use a WYSIWYG html editor to author your invitation message.
You can create a single intercept and completely internationalise the invitation message and other text.

Results and Analysis
Our Analysis framework is used to analyze both the results of surveys and the results of intercepts.
Our Analysis framework offers the following features, click to learn more:
The results for both surveys and intercepts can be seen in realtime as they come in.
There are two types of reports: Aggregate Statistics Reports, and Text Reports.
- Aggregate Statistics Reports
These reports contain the following items for the following types of questions in the survey.
- Categorical questions generate a pie chart.
- Multiple choice questions generate a bar chart.
- Ordinal questions generate a pie chart.
- Matrix questions generate two matrices: a totals (sum) matrix and an averages matrix.
These reports contain the following items for the following types of fields in the personnal information section or in a custom fields question.
- Checkbox fields generate a pie chart.
- Dropdown list fields generate a pie chart or bar chart.
- Number fields generate a matrix which provides the sum, average, minimum, and maximum values.
With our report editor, it is easy to customize the charts in a report. You can easily select which participants' answers to include in the results by specifying search criteria.
For example, you can specify that only the responses submitted between January 1, 2008 and January 12, 2008 are to be considered, or that only the responses of participants who answered X at question 1 are to be considered.
- Cross Tabulation Reports
Cross tabulations (or crosstabs, or pivot tables in Excel) are used to find relationships between different responses. You can rapidly slice and dice responses to one or more questions based on responses provided to other questions.
- Text Reports
All the personal information and the answers to all questions can be viewed in text format. These reports are also used to view comments or details entered when a participants selects an "Other" option in a question.
The aggregate statistics reports can be published in order to give the public access to the results. You can chose the results of which questions are included in the publish report.
The intercept results report contains two charts. The first shows the number of web site visitors who accepted and refused the invitation. The second displays the number of interceptions that occurred on each of the domains specified in the intercept.
You can export your results in Comma Separated Value (*.CSV) format files that can be easily opened in popular spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel and Corel Quattro Pro. You can also export your results in text format.
